Story: Edward Van Halen, the virtuoso son of a Dutch musician who brought his family to California when he was seven, is a guitarist with a distinct playing style that has inspired scores of imitators. Van Halen’s band, aptly named “Van Halen”, were pioneers of the new heavy metal resurgence of the late 1970s, a time when punk rock was thought to have put long hair and guitar solos to pasture for good. Although mainly a drummer, Wolfgang took the place of original Van Halen bass player, Michael Anthony, when the band announced they would tour with David Lee Roth for the first time in twenty-three years.
