Introduction and Life Events

Story: Singer Aretha Franklin was crowned the Queen of Soul during the late 1960s, after she took the world by storm with her 1967 album, I’ve Never Loved A Man The Way That I Love You, which along with the title track also included the hits (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and Respect. One of her strongest artistic statements was the Young, Gifted and Black album, released just as she was recording her smash gospel album, Amazing Grace. She startled fans in 1974 by shedding a noticeable amount of weight for the cover photo of her album With Everything I Feel In Me, although the album itself was not successful. However, after slipping record sales in the later 1970s, she rebounded after her memorable appearance in 1980’s The Blues Brothers movie.

Stars: Franklin was born with her natal Moon in Cancer, trine her Ascendant in Scorpio and Mercury-South Node conjunction in Pisces, signifying her powerful singing voice and a special gift for communicating raw emotion. Astrology demonstrates how transits to her natal Moon over the years have coincided with some of her major artistic peaks.
