Story: Rapper Eminem rose to stardom in 1999, with the release of his classic album, The Real Slim Shady, his first collaboration with noted producer and godfather of gansta rap, Dr. Dre. However, his breakthrough success happened just at the time one of his closest friends, rapper Bugz, was shot down and killed in Detroit. Always a controversial figure, Eminem once countered criticism of his using homophobic terminology in his lyrics by performing his hit song Stan side-by-side with noted gay singer, Elton John. Eminem’s scandal-full life extended to his stormy marriage to Kim Scott, who by the time of their wedding (just a few weeks after Bugz’ murder), was the mother of their three-and-a-half year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott. The couple divorced in 2001, after two years of marriage, only to remarry and divorce again in 2006. Having triumphed as a white artist in the black-dominated hip hop genre, Eminem again came under fire in 2003 when The Source magazine unearthed an old demo tape of his that featured harsh language directed at black women, prompting an immediate (and rare) public apology and explanation from the man himself. Tragedy found Eminem again on April 11, 2006, when his best friend and fellow rapper, Proof, was gunned down outside a Detroit nightclub. Stars: Eminem was born with natal Mars in Libra (also his Sun sign) and natal Jupiter in Capricorn, signifying a combative nature and a strong sense of duty.
