Story: Phil Spector was a musical pioneer of the late 1950s and early 1960s, a genius of sound who defined the pop sounds of that era. In the age of transistor radios, when American teenagers began driving their own cars, Spector created the soundtrack of their lives, producing hit records by the dozens of singers, musicians and songwriters under his control. His early life suffered from the tragedy of losing his father to suicide, a fact that inspired his first hit song, To Know Him Is To Love Him. Becoming the top producer of his time, his career began a turn downward as the British invasion began and hi-fi stereo sound systems were introduced during the mid-1960s. However, he continued produce notable work, including the Beatles (and solo works by John Lennon and George Harrison) and the Ramones. He re-emerged into the spotlight in 2003, when a waitress and part-time actress, Lana Clarkson, was found murdered in his home. Although he was charged with a murder, he was found not guilty due to a mistrial in 2007. Stars: Spector was born with his natal Sun in Capricorn and Saturn retrograde in Aries, on the verge of going direct (what is called a “station”). Astrology demonstrates how some of the biggest days in his life have also occurred at times when transiting Saturn retrograde was making a direct station. |
